The latest news of LuxTurrim5G smart pole were discussed and showcased at the “Sähkö Valo Tele AV” exhibition in Jyväskylä last week. The event known as “Sähkömessut” gathered together about 13 000 participants interested in lighting, electric, telecom and audiovisual technologies. Tehomet showcased at their booth the exhibition version of the latest LuxTurrim5G smart pole design. This 4 m tall smart pole built for the exhibition include 5G radio, video camera and weather sensor.
“Exhibition was a great success, lot of interest among the visitors towards the pole and LuxTurrim 5G -project overall. Cities, operators and construction companies as well as designers were interested on 5G deployment on street level and also service side of the equation. Live demo was a really good example of what project has to offer, although we presented so called lite -version at the booth.”, says Sami Huuskonen from Tehomet.
Our functional demo showed real time video stream of the crowd in the exhibition and anonymization of the faces of individual persons by the video analysis. This kind of application can bring real time situational awareness e.g. for public safety services while guaranteeing privacy protection.
Our partner Orbis, responsible for the cabling solutions and device integration of the smart pole, participated to the assembly of the exhibition pole. “To show a demo with connected and really working devices inspired visitors to have ideas how smart poles can be used in urban environments”, commented Jari Koskinen from Orbis.
Next the LuxTurrim5G smart pole journey continues from Finland to Europe and Frankfurt where Tehomet will be attending the Light & Building Fair, Hall 4 Booth B10 March 8-13, 2020.
